Official ERS Rules
How to Play
Players take turns placing cards face up in the center pile. If a Face Card (J, Q, K, A) is played, the next player must play another face card within a certain number of tries (J=1, Q=2, K=3, A=4). If they fail, the original player takes the pile.
When to Slap
- Doubles: Two cards of the same value in a row (e.g., 5, 5).
- Sandwiches: Two cards of the same value with one card in between (e.g., 5, 8, 5).
- Tens: Two consecutive cards that add up to 10 (e.g., 6, 4).
- Marriages: A King and Queen played consecutively.
- Top/Bottom: The first card of the pile matches the card just played.
Penalty: If you slap incorrectly, you must "burn" a card by placing your top card at the bottom of the pile.
